Hello Again!
Hello everyone!
It looks like Mama had a great birthday, and had a lot of company on top of that! The cake that (Jesse baked) looked good too. I imagine I will be gone before I get back down there.
Daddy said that Mama slept real well last night; guess the excitement of her birthday has passed. He also said that he told Sherry not to come back down tonight since she just went home. He said thatt Dirone would take Mama to the doctor tomorrow.
All of this means that Daddy and Mama will be on their own Mon. and Tues. nights. If needed, I imagine Carla will help out again. Thanks Carla! You have been terriffic!!!
I am going down Wed. night and stay through Saturday. I understand that we are going to collectively cellebrate Mama's birthday together after Bettsie's shower on Saturday.

75th Birthday!
Sound asleep she is! Making her list!
Today mamaw had a big day. She had birthday cake and balloon's and a egg custard pie. I am truly amazed at how far she has come. She is doing puzzles, writing and pretty much whatever she sets her mind to do. She made a list of all the people who came to see her today or called her today. I snitched the list and here it is:

Okay, so now she is in the bed. She had Pot Roast for supper, but found out she had egg custard pie and that was all over. She had a wonderful time visiting with Kylie, but Kylie was really interested in chasing Tyler around she thought he was very cute. Kylie brought her a Woodpecker feeder to hang out her window. I think she will enjoy that and I hope they find it. Well I am going to post a few pics and then I am going to go to Sleep. I pray Mamaw sleeps all night she took the big pill tonight. Love to all and goodnight.

Week of 25th Schedule
Sherry and Jesse are staying with Mama this coming Saturday night. At this point, no one is scheduled for the early part of next week.
As you know, Brenda and Rachel will be out of pocket and can't stay. I need to work Mon. through Wed. but could come down on Thurs. and stay for several days.
Joke of the day
Rumsfeld briefed the President this morning. He told Bush that three Brazilian solders were killed in Iraq. To everyone’s amazement all the color drained from Bush’s face. How are you tonight Mamaw & Granddaddy?
Well I fell asleep on the couch with Kylie this evening I guess we had a hard day at Pre-K and me at work. It is 8:15 and we woke up, so lets see if she goes back to sleep at bedtime.

John, Elena, Bucky and I had a wonderful time in Blue Ridge this past weekend. It was great to be away on such a beautiful weekend. Saturday Night
It is only 9 p.m. and Mama is already snoring. This is a record for the week and I sure am thankful. Tonight Mama was able to lay down and be quiet and go off to sleep without a pill. This is a big improvement over the past few nights when she fretted and worried about being at home and not wanting to go back to the hospital. I pray those nights are over. Let's all pray that Mama will have restful nights BEGINNING TONIGHT! God has brought us so far that this will be icing on the cake.
Today Mama went to the kitchen and cut up biscuits for dumplings with Rachel. Then she put two cookies and a drink on her rolling walker and went back to her chair. She rode her bike twice today for 10 minutes each time. She helped me do a craft and colored, worked puzzles, and spotted the deer before anyone else. She enjoyed a visit from Alan and Carla. Her sense of humor is back and we laughed a lot. It sure is a blessing to have a day like this. What a difference one week has made! Praise God!

Another Great Day!
I spent the day with Sudie. She is doing great! She spent some time catching up her calendar, writing a card to a friend, coloring, and working some puzzles. She likes the dot-to-dot puzzles best. She is doing so much on her own that Daddy said he feels like she does not need him (he sure was smiling when he said it!). She is eating good and threatened to help cook supper. I let her have ice cream for a morning snack because Daddy was not at home. We laughed about getting away with that one! What a miracle we have seen with our very own eyes. Pray that mama begins to sleep better. She needs some rest and so do Daddy and Rachel. Tonight Daddy is going to take her for a little ride. Then she wants to look at the pictures of Kylie's first day at school. Soon she will be posting to this site herself. Amazing!
Welcome Home!
It is great to have Mama home! John and I are taking Elena and Bucky to the mountains this weekend so it looks like it will be a while before I see this miracle for myself. However, I could hardly sleep last night thanking God for the blessing he has showered on us!

I talked to Mamaw today :)
Today while I was at dads office, grandaddy Bud called and said Mamaw was wanting to talk to ANYBODY!! So, I got on the phone with her and she sounded so good! I asked her if she was happy to be home, and she said she has never been MORE happy to be home than today! haha. She also asked what I was doing, and then I told her about Kylie starting school tomorrow, and she asked if I thought Kylie understood when tomorrow was or how soon that is. :) She also asked to talk to Kylie, I'm not sure what they talked about, BUT, they talked :)

Platelets Are UP!
I forgot to report that even though Mama is off of the steroids, her platelets are higher than they have been in 2 years. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.
Afternoon Visit on 9-11
This afternoon I had a wonderful time with Mama. She was a little hyper when I arived (very different from the lethargic days of last week), but she quickly calmed down and we had a great time. She is obviously much better and it was such fun to talk with her. She dictated a few pages of her next book to me. The title is,"Heads or Tails?" This is because "I don't know if I am heads or tails!" She was able to verbalize some rather detailed events of the past few weeks and is trying to figure out what was real and what was imagined. She can't wait to get home, but knows that she must get a little better. She told me about praying for herself when nothing else made sense. I told her all of her children and grandchildren are praying for her, and that we are seeing her be healed before our eyes. It was a great visit and I think she is going to have a best seller!

Bud, Jesse & Sherry visit Sudie!
WOW! I was very impressed with Mamaw's turnaround. We had great conversation's and picked on her a little too. Jesse made her eat carrot's and it pissed her off she also ate some rice with beef tips, a bite or two of a fish sandwich and some chocolate milk shake, she thought it all tasted terrible. We told her that Jesse was the boss and she had to eat if he said so"she thought that was crazy". She says Rachel is crazy and Sherry is sweet. She wink's at Bud and kisses him! We took her for a walk down the hall and that disoriented her a little and I think it made her tired. This is so much better than last week at this time. I really feel Mamaw is pulling herself out of this, but I know it will take some time. Though when she gets tired I can tell she is still doing some of the stuff she was doing last week but very minimal. When we left she got a little irritated because she couldn't go home. Bud reassured her that she was fine and the doctor would see her the next day and that she should get some rest. We had a great visit we kissed her good bye and headed home about 5:45. For future reference NO CAMERA'S. You can take nothing like that to her room. I got busted!

Rachel & Ralph's Visit
Rachel and Ralph visited mom today at 12:00. Rachel was sure she needed more than hospital food, so she took a picnic. Mom ate very good today. She had full serving of sweet potatoes and ham. She drank her protien drink and had a piece of chocolate pie. However, we are still looking for Egg Custard Pie. So if anyone has a recipe, please make a pie. Never mind, Sherry has one in the freezer.
Ralph helped mom eat while Rachel kept her occupied with jokes and laughing.
Mom seemed more oriented today and was aware that she was at the hospital. Dad, Jesse and Sherry will be visiting at 3:30.
